CITRO is a maritime rescue organization and helps people in distress at sea, day and night. We can do that thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, who put their time and energy into the rescue and relief effortlessly. Nobody is paid for that work or gets any other form of compensation. CITRO is a real volunteer organization. For the actions at sea, approximately 40 volunteers are prepared, consisting of: skippers, crew paramedics and technicians. Doctors from CITRO Medico advise on ships and coordinate medical evacuations as necessary. In addition, CITRO participates in prevention and information activities. The volunteers ashore within the board and within marketing and PR provide fundraising and support.
